Happy Thanksgiving Week! (For those of you who participate.)
I hope you have your menu planned and your fridge stocked!
Today I wanted to share with you a silly commission I've been working on;
Ear Bud Buddies!
These little guys were initially inspired by a Pin I found on Pinterest a few years ago.
I call them "Ear Bud Buddies," I know it's ridiculous and cheesy but so are they.
Initially I had a grey kitty and a black and white speckled dog up on the site. The gal who commissioned these snatched those guys up too, looks like they'll be making cute stocking stuffers for happy Grandkids this Christmas!
The grey kitty was shipped out earlier this month, but I did manage to grab a picture of the new commissions and the little white pup.
These little dudes are pretty simple to make. They're made with acrylic felt and cotton embroidery thread. I use a piece of extra stiff interfacing inside the bodies and tongue, and a bit of polyester stuffing to fill them out so they keep their form nicely. The tongue portion clips to the body with a metal snap so it's nice and secure.
I can write up a real pattern for these if there is any interest. They are pretty darn cute.
I don't plan to make any more of these for my Etsy site since I'm trying to switch over to mostly knitted and crocheted items. If you find that you SIMPLY MUST have one, you can always shoot me an email (email@example.com) and we can work out a custom order. <3
That's all I have for now! I'm going to be cooking a big, Vegetarian Thanksgiving feast Thursday and desperately need to clean out my fridge before I start prep work tomorrow (deviled eggs, pie, etc.) It's gonna be super festive and fun.
Thanks for stopping by!
Sorry I've been MIA for a while! We've been super busy working on the 2016 Ashley & Alex Christmas Album, and getting the new office all set up and organized.
I have been working on a couple of new projects, which, if you follow my Instagram, you might have caught glimpses of. I'll share more about those soon, but for now, I wanted to show you my new item for the Etsy shop.
Tweed Boot Cuffs!
I know what you're thinking, "Enough with the Tweed already!"
I can't stop! It's just too cozy!
I'm made these with Wool of the Andes Worsted Tweed in the colorway Persimmon Heather. You might remember it from my Epic Tweed Bouquet;
I'm used the pattern Simple Cable Knit Boot Cuffs by Julie Tarsha. It's very well written and easy to follow.
I used a really fun cast on for this project, one I've never tried before; Jeny's Stretchy Slipknot Cast-on. It definitely took me a minute to figure it out but it works well!
That's all I have for now, I've got an unusual commission to share with you later on this week, and a cute little project I'm making just for me!
Thanks for stopping by! I'll have more to share soon!
