It's almost Halloween! I hope you've got your costume all picked out and ready for action! It's been another busy week around these parts. We've been working on recording the Ashley&Alex Christmas Album 2016 and getting the house all ready for a Pumpkin carving get together this weekend and I've been busy working on and shipping out custom orders for the Etsy shop. I thought I would share some of the stuff I've been working on and some lovely photos of Fall foliage along the way. Let's get started! (I hope you like Tweed!) I finished a great pair of Autumn Harvest Fingerless gloves which are available in the Etsy shop. The yarn is KnitPicks Wool of the Andes Tweed in Autumn Heather. The pattern is Birch Lake Fingerless Mitts by Roxanne Yell, I did alter the pattern a bit so that the cables lined up with the ribbing and I moved the thumb over so the cable was more centered on the mitt. I also finished a cute headband that's up in the Etsy shop. The pattern is Intertwining Cable Diamonds Headband by Devin Lynch. The yarn is KnitPicks Wool of the Andes Tweed in Persimmon Heather. It's a fun and easy pattern and it flew together in two days! And I'm almost finished with this fantastic textured stitch hat that is so much fun to work on! I might even make another one for my Alex in a dark green color. (Although I bet it would look amazing in a glossier yarn so you could see more of the stitch definition.) The pattern is Cabled Dad Hat by Alexis Winslow, The yarn (surprise!) is KnitPicks Wool of the Andes Tweed in Down Heather. I should have this guy up in the shop by next week. I'm also working on a non-Tweed project. Crazy, right? This project initially started out as the beginning panel of a blanket, then I got a foot into it and realized; ain't nobody got time for that. It's looking like it might become a scarf at this point with long fringe on the ends. It could end up in the shop, it could end up under a family members' Christmas tree. Who knows!!?? The Yarn is Drops Air and the pattern is Irish Wedding Afghan by Sharondipidy Designs. In between all the knitting and cleaning I have been making time to appreciate this wonderful Fall foliage. Look at all these beautiful colors! The neighborhood smells of Fall bonfires and petrichor, all the kitties I usually pet on my walks are tucked up warm in their kitty beds. Sometimes I see them peeking at me through their front windows. My little bird feeder has been jammed full of squirrels and birdies every morning. And all my neighbors out walking their dogs are in rain coats and flannels. And, my personal favorite, Pumpkins are starting to pop onto porches all over the neighborhood! Alex and I have been switching up our usual baked goods for mugs of hot cocoa with marshmallows. Fall is here to stay! Extra bonus picture of Prince helping me with an early morning photo shoot. Such a good helper!
I hope you guys are knitting and nerding out about Fall as hard as I am. Oh! Ps. I've got a super cozy chowder recipe I want to share with you all next week! It's gonna be awesome! Thanks for reading! -Ashley
