Hi guys! I have a finished project to share with you! My Paper Towel Cowl! This lovely pattern is by Nick Davis on Ravelry. It is a fingering weight cowl with a mixture of beautiful textures and two rows of functional buttons. The cowl is worked as a flat panel with a garter border picked up after finishing. For my cowl I used Black Trillium Fibers merino wool in the colorway Watermelon. I found the most magical mother of pearl and natural shell buttons from Lovely Little Trims on Etsy. I couldn't have asked for a better pairing! My finished cowl turned out significantly smaller then the featured design. I ended up adding an entire extra panel to my cowl after this picture to get the appropriate length. I added an extra few rows to the garter border as well. It still turned out a little shorter widthwise than the original, If I knit this project again I will gauge up and maybe add a few stitches to my cast on for the body. Overall I am very happy with how this project turned out and I've been wearing it constantly. I recommend this pattern if you're looking for a simple, satisfying and meditative knit. I'll be back soon with some more finished projects and a recipes to share. My New Years resolution is to post a new update here every Tuesday so check back next week for a fresh post!
Thanks for reading! -Ashley
