Aquatic Mugs

That's right!

More mugs!

This time I'm making some fabulous aquatic mugs. These guys will be loosely based on my Art Car. I don't know if you've been properly introduced but this here is my Oceanic Cruiser.

I purchased the Cruiser when my last Art Car bit the dust. This is Lucille btw. May she rest in peace.

I spent most of the Summer of 2011 painting the Cruiser, then drove her back to my hometown (Tri-Cities, WA) where my sisters Jeanne and Lindsey helped me finish up the paint job. Jeanne is responsible for the mermaid and the sea dragon, while little sister Lindsey created the Octopus and helped with lots of detail work.

Anyway! These new mugs will feature the creatures from my Oceanic Cruiser and lots of fun blue waves.

I've been working on some sketches to get an idea what the final products will look like.

I know, they're a little busy!

I'm not sure if I'm going to carry the waves up to the top and bottom of the mugs (covering the mug surface completely) or if I'm going to leave a band of white on the edges like in the sketches. I do think I'll be featuring my gold and silver markers heavily so these will be extra sparkly, just like my car.

Ideas? Suggestions? I'd love to hear some feedback before I start busting these puppies out.

Thanks for reading!
