Sorry I've been MIA for 2 months! These are crazy times we're living in and, unfortunately, I haven't been in a very writing/self promoting head space. That being said, I decided it was time to check back in and I have a wonderful new pattern to share with you!
I just finish this Cable Companions pattern for a nice woman who emailed me asking if I could design a felt cable holder for her Senior Citizen Zoom crafting class.
This animal cable holder is a variation on the Ear Bud Buddies pattern I designed back in 2016. (This is not an entirely original pattern, I took heavy influence from some images I found on Pinterest around that same time period.) You can read more about my Ear Bud Buddies HERE.
The pattern contains instructions and pattern templates for both the Large Cable Companion (5.5"x3.5") and the Small Cable Companion (AKA Ear Bud Buddy) (4"x2".) It also includes variations for the Dog version and the Cat version. Instructions are numbered and accompanied by full color photographs detailing how to do each step.
You'll need a rudimentary knowledge of sewing stitches; blanket stitch, whip stitch, french knots. You'll also need felt, polyester stuffing, embroidery thread, sew in interfacing as well as a few other details you'll find out when you download the pattern! You can find the completed pattern HERE in my Etsy shop.
These guys are so much fun to make, and if you're not into dogs and cats you can always get creative and use the base to make your own animals! Bunnies? Frogs? It's up to you! Plus you can always make yourself a matching set to take with you on the go or to give as a fun gift.
Let me know if you try this pattern and please tag me on Instagram at @ashweather_fa or with the hashtag #cablecompanions.
Also, if you're interested I will be doing an Instagram giveaway of the two cable companions in the top picture on this post (orange doggo and light blue cat) between 7/14/2020 and 7/18/2020. All you have to do to enter is go to my Instagram page and under THIS GIVEAWAY POST tag two or three friends and you're in! (Open to US residents only.) Winner will be announced 7/18/2020 at 5pm PST.
Thanks for reading!
