I wanted to stop in and share some of my potential knits for the New Year. (I know I'm a little late but better late than never!) I've got quite a bit of design work I want to focus on in 2019 but I won't let that stop me from working on some of these beautifully designed projects. Without further ado, here are the gorgeous patterns that have been calling my name lately.
Sorry I've been MIA!
I always have a little existential crisis around my Birthday and question all my life choices and the direction of my business. It's a tradition.
I have made time, in the midst of all my brooding, to cast on a fantastic pair of lace Summer Socks. The pattern I'm using is Arabesque Socks by Jessica Gore.
Hi guys! Long time no see!
Today I'm working on a set of merino/silk blend socks. I'm knitting these guys up in a beautiful orange color called Masala. The yarn I'm using is KnitPicks Gloss Fingering which is 70% Merino Wool, 30% Silk.
Thought I'd give you a quick update on my current WIP's (works in progress.)
I've got a few things going at the moment; still working on my Tegna top. (I know, it's been months!) I started it a size too large, then ripped it out, I started it a size smaller and it was too small so I ripped it out again. Then, I started it in the larger size but at a smaller gauge and I think it's gonna stick this time!
I finally finished Jakson's Tweed Socks!
These guys took forever! I was a little distracted by a few super top secret projects I've been working on. I also suffered from a bout of Second Sock Syndrome which made it tough to get sock #2 off the needles. I've since solved this problem by getting myself a new set of circular needles for Magic Loop Two at a Time Socks. (As long as my cat doesn't eat these ones too, I'll be good to go!)
This year, I've decided to try out more hand dyed yarns from independent retailers. My latest obsession is Tuskenknits yarn by Maria Tusken. I found her on Instagram and totally fell in love with her style. I signed up for her Beauty & the Beast Yarn Club recently and this was the second skein she dyed for me.
I've been working on a fresh commission of 4 pairs of slipper socks. Two pairs of Women's size 7.5 and 2 pairs of Men's size 10.
Thought I'd stop by and give you a quick update on some of the crafty adventures I've been on lately. After finishing the Never Ending Slanket and Susan's Winter Shawl, I decided I needed to make some smaller "instant gratification" projects. I started by knitting Alex a new Winter Beanie for school.
AFA was launched in 2015 as a craft and lifestyle blog. It has since morphed into a full time knitting blog! Here you'll find pattern and yarn reviews as well as a smattering of recipes and original patterns.
