Hi friends! I'm excited to share my newest hat pattern with you! Welcome, the Patience Beanie! This guy has been a labor of love. I had a client with a very specific idea of the hat he wanted made, after about 4 months of trading hat pattern suggestions and many types of yarn we were able to settle on this design. The name "Patience" is not only a commentary on the long design process behind this beauty, but also a reflection of how most of us have been feeling for the past 15 months. Like Clara Parkes says in The Yarn Whisperer, "Stockinette, ribbing, cables, even the humble yarn over can instantly evoke places, times, people, conversations, all those poignant moments that we've tucked away in our memory banks. Over time, those stitches form a map of our lives." I knew looking back on this design I would always reflect upon this particular moment in time, and felt this creation deserved a name worthy of that remembrance. This pattern is knitted in the round from the bottom up using circular and double pointed needles. It features a simple ribbing pattern and basic K2tog decreases. It includes two sizes and an optional pom pom. Samples pictured are knitted in KnitPicks Swish and Cascade Yarns Luminosa. Patience Beanie will be available in my Etsy shop starting today! It will be up in my Ravelry shop April 3rd, after the mass logout/blackout is over, you can read more about that HERE, you can also read about the initial redesign and accessibility issues with Ravelry here.
Let me know if you like this pattern! If you make this beanie please tag me on Instagram at @ashweather_fa with the hashtag #patiencebeanie. Thank you for reading! -Ashley
